West Ham next permanent manager odds after Julen Lopetegui’s sacking

West Ham confirmed that Julen Lopetegui had relieve of his duties this afternoon after an immensely disappointing start to the season.
Lopetegui, 58, put pen to paper เว็บพนันออนไลน์ UFABET สมัครง่าย โปรโมชั่นมากมาย on a two-year deal in the summer, taking over the reins from David Moyes’ second spell in the hot seat at the London Stadium.
But wins were few and far between over the winter period for Lopetegui’s misfiring Hammers and a pair of heavy defeats at the hands of top-of-the-table Liverpool and champions Manchester City proved the final straw for club bosses.
Lopetegui, formerly the manager of Wolves and Real Madrid, departs with with the Irons languishing down in 14th place and hovering just seven points above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
‘West Ham United can confirm that head coach Julen Lopetegui has today left the club,’ an official club statement read.
‘The first half of the 2024/25 season has not aligned with the club’s ambitions and the club has therefore taken action in line with its objectives.
‘The club can confirm that assistant head coach Pablo Sanz, head of performance Oscar Caro, head analyst Juan Vicente Peinado, fitness coach Borja De Alba and technical coach Edu Rubio have also left with immediate effect.
‘The board would like to thank Julen and his staff for their hard work during their time with the Hammers and wish them every success for the future.
‘The process of appointing a replacement is underway. The club will be making no further comment at this time.’
Across his 22 matches at the helm, Lopetegui manage just seven victories and five draws, while suffering a total of ten losses in all competitions.
It’s been widely reporte that Graham Potter is being lined up to succee the Spaniard, with talks to appoint the ex-Chelsea and Brighton head coach at an advance stage.
Potter has out of a job since his dismissal at Stamford Bridge in April 2023, after less than seven months in charge – and the 49-year-old Englishman has been actively seeking a return to management.
‘I’m open to anything, to be honest,’ Potter said Monday Night Football programme on October.
‘I’ve had a fantastic journey over the last 12 years from the fourth tier of Swedish football to the last eight of the Champions League and I would like to spend the next 12 years in the same position, developing players, teams, working with people and making a difference.
‘Wherever that is, I’m open to everything.’
